Saratoga jardini pond build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wish I could put something like that in my yard. If i did, i never would have had to get rid of my barra... awesome setup, mate. Can't wait to see it fully stocked. Personally, I think you should forget about adding the oscar. One cichlid living with a bunch of iconic natives will stick out like a sore thumb. Plus, the barra might just eat him when he grows (believe me they grow fast)... just my $0.02
yea my oscar isnt going in any more its just natives and i had to beg my mum to let me get the fish and i bet your barra would have gotten huge in a pond hahaha i hope mine will how big was your barra

snaped a pic of my barra out and about for the first time

I bought my barra from a lfs at about 5cm. I kept him for around 1.5yrs and he made it to over 70cm. At the time I couldnt afford a larger tank so I handed him over to my mate who grew him to almost 1m in a 8x5x2 custom tank. Unfortunately he jumped or tried to attack something above the tank, smashed the glass and we suspect it ruined his swim bladder.

In regards to your question about floating plants I think bladderwort (not sure of spelling) might be a good idea. They are a carnivorous plant that can consume things like mosquito and beetle larvae. Floating plants for jars are a very good idea because it prevents them from trying to leap out.

and now my hood is escape proof and with weight too :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

pretty good price. Funnily enough I'm selling one about same size and missing barbels fr around the same price..... Coincidence?

But yeh, u are aware that the barbels don't grow back... probably not a massive issue as he'll be in a pond but yeah
