The eeltail will also be really good for cycling the system. I've never really been that big a fan of them to be honest but they do serve a good purpose sometimes.
ok that should be good i got feeders in there to help cycle it and the eel tail cat should clean them up haha ;)

Definately, whatever the eeltail doesn't get, the barra will definately finish off. I forgot to ask, where abouts are you located? Cos some areas of Aus it will be real hard to heat a pond during winter...

sydney there going to be 2 jager 300w heaters wich is rated to heat 2000l if it isnt sufficient then a i will put another in

Oh ok. Are you using some sort of insulation between the ground and pond liner... might make heating things more efficient

it has anti root stuff and a tarp and the ground is paced down and it has a layer of rock to keep heat and an then dirt over that

My jardini is six years old now he is in with lots of cats , irwini , Niger , giraffe , plecos , he's killed loads of tankmates over the years mainly cichlids I have managed to keep a jaguar cichlid in with him but he needs a retreat on the odd occasion , my most recent purchase is a large pacu they seem to be ok together but typically the jag don't like him

nice i cant get much fish like that in oz well not legally haha but the one im getting is just gunna be with a barramundi eel tail cat and 2 jade perch all aussie natives:headbang2

You might want to add the jade perch to the pond last. Some can be real a** holes to their tankmates. I remember when I introduced mine with my barra, they spent the whole night beating each other up. I thought I was gonna lose one for sure but the next morning they were like best friends.

yea they are going to be last cause they are the slowest growing and as you yu said can be asses
