Satisfied With 300 Gallons or Want Bigger?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't even have my 210 set up yet and I already want/need to get another monster tank.

I started out with a 29 gallon and I fell in love with the hobby. A year and a half later we got a 55 and I thought it was awesome, it was huge!!! Later on I ended up with a 125, then a 90 gallon reef tank, etc, etc, etc. Two years ago I bought a 210 and was amazed at how large it was. Well, my 300 is going to be here later this week. I hope to be happy with it for a while. I really don't know where I would put a larger tank.

I bought and sold a 125g before even filling it because it would have been a waste, simply put a 6x1.5ft tank isn't that big. The small depth limits it greatly. As someone said above a 6x3 is almost better than a 10x2. The depth is so key in my opinion.
My biggest complaint on most smaller tanks and the reason for the constant upgrade. It seems that all the cooler fish grow to Monsterous proportions, which means we need to upgrade to Monster tanks. Well at least with a large enough footprint to house them. Case in point: stingrays, arrows, clown knives, wolf fish, snake heads, flower horns, etc. They all get BIG! I agree a 6x3 would be better than than the 10x2. I wish I would've realized this before purchasing my last tank. Width is as crucial as length. Personally, I dont find height to be as big of a concern when compared to length or width as long as it's over 24in.

agreed :D width is as important as length and height doesnt really matter as long as its 24 in. or longer until you get like a 10 ft. tank cuz it would look wierd only being 24 in. tall
