Well,that is a good idea,but my next big plan is to get on craigslist is at least a 150 gallon the most.Unless I magically ran into a 200 gallon for the same price as a 150 gallon tank lol.

the red devil was beating the crap out of the other fishes and eating them.I told the lady,apparently they didn't study what type of fish this was.

Then the Red devil would be moved to the 55 gallon by himself or with another red devil his size .

It sounds like you didn't study too much either. Please don't keep a RD in a 55g tank....that just ain't right. They are very active, energetic fish and need room to swim and exercise. You can find some really good deals on large used tanks.

how bout you take that red devil and put it in that 100G your talking bout? or move your oscar and jack dempsey to the 100G and dont get the red devil..

thats a little extreme to say seeing as that im guessing you would say that a 75 is best for one, which is only wider than a 55... but yes i do agree that a 55 gallon is too small width wise for a full grown red devil (or at least one thats +12in)

I don't think it's extream to say. Young hobbiest need to be givin sound advice. I wouldn't say a 75 is best for one I would say it is the minimum size I would suggest to keep one in however. If the OP said he was going to house him alone in a 75 I'd say go for it, I can't say the same for a a 55.

Well lets see smart guy,its obvious on how a red devil looks,it sure wasn't a midas either.Yes it was really aggressive,it sure wasn't a jaguar,wolf,or a GT.DUH,that is why my guessing was correct.

Also why are you comparing a 120 gallon to a 240 gallon?Doesn't that just make it too obvious that the length and width of a 240 gallon is bigger than the 120?

A 240L is like two 120's added together...8' x 2' footprint. The length is double but the width is the same.

I lol'd at the "it sure wasn't a midas" part. FYI, midas and RD's are cross bred so often that it is literally impossible to get ahold of a pure specimen of either species from a regular lfs, let alone a chain store like petco. My reason for pointing out that you said you ID'd it based on aggression is that it isn't even possible to identify a fish based on its behavior.

I'm not. The person I quoted had indicated that they didn't think a 75 gallon was suitable for an RD because it "is only wider than a 55". Is it not also true, then, that a 120 is "only" longer than a 240? btw if you aren't already aware, a 120 is 4'x2'x2' and a 240 is 8'x2'x2'.
