Have you tried Frozen Baby Brine Shrimp?

No, I looked for some and couldn't find any, where would I get that from?

I have less now than a few days ago but still quite a few. Mine have been going after ground up flake a little bit and scavenging off the bottom. I grind the flake to almost dust and then force it under the water so it sinks. I may try frozen this week, they are still in an open community tank so I don't know how many will actually survive.

I guess on their next batch I'll use pulverized flake food. The hikari stuff doesn't sink without surface agitation, and in the breeder box , it's not sinking and makes a mess on the bottom that's not easy to clean without stressing the fry.

I'm down to 3 babies :(

I'll try to get a fry count tomorrow, I think I have about 50 left now, that little parrot fish keeps getting fatter too so I think that's the one hunting them down. I first thought it was the two pictus cats doing it at night but the mother has nipped them pretty well and they seem to stay away. She doesn't push the parrot away quite as well, it's stubborn. I tried to move to parrot over to the other tank today but it went in a log to hide and I didn't want to piss daddy off any more, he was mad enough I opened the lid.

The tank was going nuts today so I moved everyone out except for the trio of green terrors. I was just going to move the parrot and silver dollars but the pictus cats came out and were easy to catch for once. They are all in the other tank with four very shy and small ob peacock mixes I got recently. The peacocls have been hiding since I got them and won't even come out to eat so maybe these guys can socialize them more.
Fry count today - looks like 25-50 now but mom is hiding them in a shadow at the back.

Are water changes ok to do still? Should I do smaller ones more often or just the weekly one of 18 gallons?

Here's an update of the fry, I actually have 4 left.

Looks like one has a split tail, i don't know if that's from it's siblings or genetic deformity.

You can see in the pics that I took some pics with the breeder box dirty, and some after I cleaned it up.

The fry do have some pigment to them, it is faded in some pics from the stress of cleaning the box. I hate doing it but I want them to survive.

I don't know how often or how much I should change the water on the tank, it's only filtered by two spherical Jebo sponge filters.

The tail split looks more like an injury than a deformity from what I could see.

My older fry have to be about a week behind yours, they look exactly like your first pic from last week with the darker spots still. The new batch are in the wiggler stage, I am guessing they are about a week old now. I will try to get some pics up tomorrow.

I bought the same type of breeder box that you have, the biggest downfall I found was I have two wigglers (the week old ones) that went thru the slits tail first and got stuck at the gut and died - I guess next time I will have to try to grow them out further before putting them in there.

wow lost alot probably need a bigger grow out tank
