My ray likes bloodworms but some gets blown between rocks,I was wondering if something like Hoplo's would be suitable.
I am adding some silver dollars as tank mates but wanted something that will find bits that go out of sight between rocks etc.

What type of rays and how big? I keep Raphael cats with my rays, no issues.

I keep my rays on bare bottom and syphon out poop and anything else. Not usually any food left to worry about. In my opinion the only way to keep water quality pristine is bare bottom. Eliminates a lot of potential problems. Personally I'm not a fan of non-ray tank mates...I've had problems in the past and decided to just keep rays with rays and nothing else. Everyone's experience with rays is different tho.

I was considering some satanoperca. I have kept these before and they were peaceful, not too greedy and would pick up small bits from the substrate.
I may try a small group of those.

Keep in mind that any your female is of hunting size. Eartheaters get bullied by rays pretty easily ime. Getting them as big as possible might alleviate some headaches.

Severum, festivum and chocolates for SA cichlids. I had a Geo Tapajos that ended up chow when I was gone for a few days, constantly being right on the sandbed made him a prime target. A larger specimens would have worked better/longer. My cichlids eat a lot of food before it gets to the rays, something to consider when you want to get the ray on other food.
