Looks like you have a lot of surface agitation. Could just be a glitch in your test results, or test kit. But slime coat issues? Keep monitoring and post back down the road. Good luck.
Sure I will... intend to test how long there will be slime coat issues with the water conditioner . Max 5 days before I do water change and switch back to Safe
Slime coat issues sounds more like a tap water issue, not a water conditioner issue. I understand that you are seeing different results, but I'm speaking from decades of hands on experience. Increased C02 levels in my cold water in the winter (40F temps from the tap) can be very hard on some species slime coats (it will literally peel off like gobs of snot), while other species have zero issues. Another issue can be gas super saturation, which in extreme cases can cause gas bubble disease. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2014/8/fish
In your situation using a water conditioner that contains a slime coat enhancer may possibly help. I honestly have no idea. In my case I simply stopped keeping the species that had problems with my tap water.
RD. First thing, really appreciate your help in this issue
Why I feel it is because of water parameters and likely conditioner issue is because I am trying to breed my flowerhorn with a parrot in another tank. A 3ft tank. Equally overstocked lol
This 3ft tank like I mentioned in another thread regarding my flowerhorn fin rot, was previously 5 day WC and subsequently 3 days water change because I do WC together with the arowana tank.
Since the flowerhorn is in quarantine , I decided to do a test recently to see when the parrot will start to show signs of shedding slime coat. It started about 7-8days after last WC. This 3ft tank is always on my regular water conditioner as the amount need for safe is too minute.
Based on the above few results in 2 different tank, I feel the shedding of slime coat is likely due to water parameters which then co relates to the conditioner I was using.
It could be possible that the overdosing may be the cause and I will test it again to see if things turn out better by reducing dosage to 1 scoop of 2.5ml powder which should be between the recommended 1x to 4x of safe required for about 800 litres
