Wow. The only thing one could suggest to fix this from happening again is... a rabbit's foot. or a 4 leaf clover. That's some rotten luck. I hope your ray(s) are all okay!
u think alot of little peices of the barb broke off while u were pulling it out?
thats wht i fear if i ever get stung, is all the little peices they would have to dig out of me
They lose them about every 6 months and you will see two stingers on the tail as the new one grows in and they shed the old one. I just had a male motoro that picked one up in the sand and it was stuck in his tail. I pulled him out and used some pliers to pull it out. It was really hard to pull out as the stingers are serrated. They go in easy and pull out hard.Wen stingrays shed their stingers how long does it usually take? I had a motoro for a while about a month and still hasn't shed. And if they shed it will there be a stinger already in the tail or do you have to wait for it to grow back?
