bronze cory

ok i found some pics. the ones of the new "404" after its extreme makeover...

also I don't believe it's a bronze cory. Here's a good pic of him i just snapped:

enlarge it and you'll see the coloration is slighty off from this guy (bronze cory)

THIS IS NOT MY FISH, BUT A PIC OF A BRONZE CORY FROM AQUATIC HOBBYIST.

Here's another:

Here's the "404". Looks strangely new after its extreme makeover dont it? :naughty:

Not sure where it got itself some new packaging and such

See there it is right there. "FLUVAL 404" so it MUST be true

A pic of the bio-media:

Dont know how it got wrapped like new in plastic direct from the factory.. A conundrum for sure.

And pic of the bio-media trays with hand for perspective:

So... off to Pet* (smart or co. you choose) The fluval 404: nowhere to be seen...The fluval 405: standing proud on the bottom shelf above a $220 price tag...

For those that dont know the Fluval 405 parts are interchangeable for the most part with the 404. Really the only thing they changed is the motor housing clips and hose attachments to hold the hose over the edges of the tank.

I quickly snatched up the 405 and after taxes paid $237.

Cost so far: $238.26

I planned on just testing the seals and such on my 404 and then taking back the 405. They assured me I had 90 days to try it out. I was back in Pet* in under 10 minutes with a 405 that looked strangely like a 10 year old 404. But it had the 405 sticker right on it, so it had to be the 405 right? RIGHT!

Cost so far: back to $1.26

Cost of Goldfish: $1.26
Cost of 405: $237
Cost of fraud: -$237

Cost of loss of dignity: Priceless

i appreciate that you believe i had dignity at the start of this thread.

Looks just like the bonze cories begging me for food in the tank next to me >.<. But if its 3 inches long its more than likely an emerald catfish.

And nice tank. (gota love it when its free)

hrmm, wonder which it is...it's about 3 inches

actually turned out pretty nice. The stand looks like new.
hey thanks! i appreciate the kind words. I left off a pic or 2 of the "craftman ship" of the stand/canopy. Allow me to enlighten

This is the front left side of the canopy:

In all fairness the flash and up close shots really make it look worse than it is, but it's still pretty bad up close
