cheap gravel idea:

Home Depot/Lowes/whatever fun home repair store you love

Get yourself a bag or two of Vigoro Decorative Stones, in whatever size you fancy (Pea, River, Pond) I use pea and river because the pond size is huge and I don't think i could vacuum those.

go home and wash it outside with the hose about 5 times

consider yourself done washing

then wash 5 more times because otherwise your tank will look like a cup of tea

then put it in your tank and enjoy.

It's only $4 a bag so with two bags, you might hit $10 for total tank set up, which i know is outrageous, but thats just the price you pay to enjoy all that is fishkeeping.

$10? I dont got that kind of money.

well i mean, it would be $8, I was taking your goldfish into account, i think that would make roughly $10, but I was never good at that math stuff.

how did you clean it

from the water stains you mean?

alot of elbow grease, some of the really abrasive green scratch pads and some water. no soap or anything on this one.

the stand was nothing but big daddy orange glo. That stuff is so awesome i sometimes take a shower with it, just so i can feel it on my body...so sensual..so...orangy

do the store swap. thats the best way, and the cheapest.
that would be wrong and immoral. and it also may or may not have already happened. i may or may not mention it later on in the thread

tell me about it. my kids are in love with them though. i have a backyard pond 2 year goal so hopefully i can migrate them sometime in the near future. plus with the new 50gal bow front i can hope to at least get some cichlids or something...
