Wow you guys sure are putting me on a pedastal that I never claimed to be on myself. Theft of a $270 item I think is pretty cut and dry as far as being the wrong thing to do no matter how you want to justify it. Yes I will judge people based on their actions of theft and then bragging about it on these forums.

You are right I guess nobody else reading these forums has been as disgusted as I am (or will not post it anyway). That is the part of this I truly find disturbing. Does not make my opposition to theft and fraud any less valid.

this was a great post we had some great fish talk and some great emotion, it was my far the best and most fun thread i have read.

to defend our writer this is not a forum about ethics. if you dont like what your reading x out the browser and find something more appealing to you

but if this is about ethics in life those are those who will take the needed steps to reach there goals, one might say an actions is wrong. but that is an opinion, another might find that it is a perfectly reasonable sacrifice to achieve what they yearn for.

and watch out for those garamies those are demon fish i had a few tare up fulll grown jd's before i finially got rid of them, i even threw them in with a 10 inch oscar and they still woudnt die

You might wanna seal that canopy with somthing.. especially if you plan on heating it. it will collect a ton of condensation in the cool/cold months. Don't need it buckling more. then it is.

However you cleaned it up nicely.. I especially like how you got all that calicum off the glass, must been a blast.!!

I agree with Talon, he switched the new filter with the old one, took it back as if it was the new one but defective. Its a fact that this is classic Return Fraud. Now i cannot turn a good deal down, but fraud is unacceptable.

Sorry Chris but you far from right. Monster fish keepers is full of ethics. Have you seen a overloaded tank that some hasnt suggested getting a bigger tank? Or people telling someone with a 10 gallon tank that they dont need a RedTail Catfish? Tell me thats not ethics..

You say "one might say the action was wrong". Really? You think it MIGHT be wrong? You say that stealing is someone opinion of whether its wrong or right? You have to be kidding me! How can you say that stealing to get what you want is justified? A bank robber needs the money so him robbin the bank is justified? Sorry but your morals and ethics are far from right.

People like these people who justify people for stealing, etc are why normal hard working people have to sacrifice to are own time and energy to safeguard are self from these people.

for one final time, nothing was stolen. More of a "forced trade in plan" if I will, and I certainly will...

There's a perfectly good $200 Fluval 404 on it's way to Fluval HQ with nothing but a faulty seal that only got 6 months use out of 10 full years of ownership. Lucky them, they even get some already seeded bio-media. If anything, they OWE ME money for that.

These are the same filters that Pet* paid $60 for and sell for $230, so if anything Fluval will replace the seal and resale the 404 for $50 and now they made the money TWICE off the same filter.

Partly tongue in cheek but mostly not. A filter should give me more than 6 months use when it's sold for $200 and it didn't. Where's my compensation for that?

At any rate, comment on the tank, tell me the rocks are nasty and my kids are ugly if you must, but get over the trade in, because I truly don't care. We can argue the points back and forth back and forth all day and it wont change how or anyone else feels.
I feel justified, you feel i'm scum. Sorry, but somehow, someway, I think I'll get over it.

Wake up early one morning, do the ice water meathod on em, and float em back in the tank for the kids to disover when they wake up, then check em out.
