Severe Impaction: This is why you should not use sand

For my leos and ocellated skink set up I used te excavator sand by itself at first but it didnt work how I thought it would it just turned into a solid rock basically not letting them dig or burrow at all but I really liked the look of it. So I then when and bought more excavator sand and repti-sand and build up kinda like a hollow in the excavator and then filled it with the reptisand and it looks really good but also gives me a place to feed them where I dont have to worry about them eating the sand.

Thats a good one but yeah excavator clay is kinda missleading but i use it for my uro

It's in the same boat as feeding live food to reptiles. Just because they do it in the wild doesn't mean its always necessary to do it in captivity. Especially if there is a risk of the reptile getting hurt. I wouldn't want to take that risk, would you?

What do you disagree with? Are you not talking about making their lives as comfortably like nature as possible? Reptiles don't eat pre killed frozen pinkies in the wild.
 
If they have calcium sand, wouldn't the calcium oxidize when it's exposed to the air and the geckos not get any? Paper Towl all the way.
