Sex of Jack Dempsey

Hi,
I am new to this site, this is my first post. I am hoping some one here can help me out. I purchased this dempsey with the hopes it might be a female. I want to breed it with a male EBJD. Can anyone tell me for sure or offer thier best opinion as to the sex of this fish.

There's no blue spangling on the cheek area - so it's most likely a male.

Im saying about 90% chance its a male......Females usually have blue patches on their gill plates.....your doesnt appear to have patches and yours appears to have a pointed dorsal fin, which is yet another sign of a male.....DONT put it in with your EBJD cause they will not end well!!!!!!!
