Sexy Plumbing - Island Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Corrugated is a completely different animal to cut straight easily.

I had no problems cutting straight cuts on the TW PC since the channels help a bit to keep straight lines. You can also use a black magic marker to mark the PC for your cut line on the film side and use a straight edge. Even cutting the corners on the panels is easy enough for areas where you need hoses or wires to run.

Gorgeous!!! Very envious. I am still trying to find time to finish my tank. I have yet to do a backflush and its been a month. Need to get that line connected and done asap.

What size holes did you drill for the korlia's and can you do that on a filled tank? I was thinking of adding some holes, but more run airline potentially.

Looks awesome! Quick question, what do you use to reliably cut the greenhouse panels you are using as lids?

Thanks guys. It’s exciting to see come together.

Twin wall PC greenhouse panels are easy to cut with a newish blade utility knife and a straight edge, just support the panel on a firm surface. Some people use a fine blade reciprocating saw or similar tool.

Dee comin through with the solid advance again! ^agreed.

TexasMFK31 TexasMFK31 Pro tip: you can talk your local Tap Plastics into cutting it for you.

Sorry I missed your question. Yeah I drill tanks when they are full. Only the top though. The holes are 1.5”. I just matched the drill bit to the already existing one.

Pump is in and running. It’s a Laguna submersible so I ordered the quick disconnect x MPT both in and out.

Water flows left to right. The holes in the baffle evenly distribute flow through the K1 bed. The pump intake pulls from the far right, with air in the center for the upward lift for the boil.

Cutting the geos back to the original plan altifrons only. There looks like three pairs of altifrons so the abalios will move to other tanks. The centerpiece is home safe and in QT as well.

JK I know we’ve said it 1,000 times but sheesh you are a monster at these builds. This made me want to go toss my 75g build in the trash hahahahahaha. The power cord and pipe management always leaves me stunned. This is definitely inspirational for future projects
