I'm assuming these are from the wild. if not, then correct me.

so with my assumption, i'm wondering what kinda viewpoint do you have on this craze.

1. cute " aww they look so cute, i wanna just have a couple and grow em up ^_^ "

im a 2.
but not even going for 20, maybe just 15 or 10, its not about the money, i just cant imagine having 20 dats and cramped in a 300 or even 450 gal..

i seriously doubt many would come clean and admit they are 3 or 4.. not unless they are ready for a lot of flaming from MFKers..

i have yet to hear anyone to be a dativore...pretty sure mfk community have a negative view on that though... hopefully u r not one of em . but thanks for ur opinion anyway
 
I have many things to say about this but heres something to consider....Do the people where ST's and other dats want to keep there rivers and bodies of water clean so these fish may have a future in them??? Isnt pollution one of the major reasons ST's are endangered or whatever they want to say about the situation now?? So when it comes to me having them in my tank with clean water ill prefer them out of the wild. One day they will kill them all off. So why not keep some. Yes it would be great to have a nice group that breed but who knows on how to get them to. To me it seems that most of the countries that sell and catch these guys are in it for the money dont you think??

good point... .but do you think that people on here have preservation in mind when they buy 100 ? or , more likely so, to just show off ?

i agree. or also buying a lot for profit?? and they dont even know how to care for these fishes..

i also agree with funwow..

i think, people should be more responsible in this situation. a lot of hobbyists may have too much money and decided to get 50 and only have 240 or 360 gals and not thinking ahead.. some may not even know what they're doing and just going to this craze. water from the wild could be polluted and all that, if irresponsible people get 50 and put them in 30 gal tanks, it could also be the same. the fish is not well taken cared of in the end.
 
I'm an environmentalist kind of guy. I will buy them and do all I can to make the fish happy and healthy. If such luck falls upon me by giving me a breeding pair than so be it and I will help them out by letting hobbyist buy CB ones instead of WC ones.
 
BTW the sad part is A LOT of these little guys are going to go to the wrong hands and eventually more than half will die IMO....
