I dont know if upset is the proper word to use but if you consider that these fish are not bred in captivity and this and other countries regularly receive bags of the babies that are taken from the wild then there is cause for concern. It's not like the fish constantly breed and reproduce in the wild so eventually that wild population will run out.

I didn't realize this was a regular thing, I thought it was kind of rare and thats why people were buying so many... because this might be the last time we see something like this.

I guess I'd rather see MFKers buying them over people who don't know the background of the fish.

I used to see the little dats show up in our stores around the spring and there were never the large quantities that are coming into the stores now and some vendors seem to be getting large ammounts throughout the year.I agree with you, since they have been shipped here I'd rather see MFKers or other keepers who will care for the dats, have them.Maybe someone is breeding them somewhere, that'd be nice.

Fingers crossed on the breeding.

I'm sticking with my four large IT's. No babies for me.

BTW the sad part is A LOT of these little guys are going to go to the wrong hands and eventually more than half will die IMO....

Unfortunately this is probably a conservative estimate :(

knowing that , are WE gonna take action? I'd be happy to lead ...

Who ever is ordering loads, be prepared for some dieing during shipping, or dieing soon after shipping, especially at that size.
If they don't mind posting, I'd be interested
to see what the price per tiger is?

Lead to what.... preserving dats by buying some up :D Or are you going to start saving all the fish in the hobby and release your fish back to there homeland waters?????? If you do that feel free to make a video to prove it.

by lead.... i dont mean by buying every dat on the market...
what WE could do is, go in the direction of captive breeding. I believe , as impossible as it seems, it CAN be done. with today's technology , how hard would it be to create an environment identical to the wild? and i dont mean in a tank, i mean like a huge pond or at least the size of john's tank . OR, with advanced science, it is possible to "make dats" in the lab? so we could probably try to find a university to do research and experiments. i admit i don't have enough money, but if we get this rolling, little bit by little bit, perhaps get environment organization , donations, universities research funding? ???? maybe we could get somewhere? as hypothetical as this all seems, at least there r thoughts and ideas. at least thats a start.
