i dont' know why there are so few people that are not surprized by this. the killer whales, the grizzly guy, sigried and roy, steve irwin,.............

sadly, i think the whale should be put down. you can't keep it,............ i read it has killed before. and you can't set it free. what you gonna do? bottom line is, whale loses in the end. i read the guy fell in but then witnesses say the victim got grabbed and pulled in

if i was gonna go into the animal training bizniz, i'd train something like sloths, or hamsters or goldfish or chickens. i'd set them straight if they got outta line or tried to get wild on me. screw training gizzlies or lions or killer whales

My thoughts exactly. People are too sensitive about things like this these days. Nature is violent, cruel, and unfair. What should be so different about this situation. The KILLER WHALE needs to be culled from the herd as there is no option of releasing as it was captive bred I believe.

I said a quick prayer for the trainer and his family/friends. He knew the risk though, and he probably loved what he did for a living very much. God bless his sole.

i dont agree with putting it down. they pulled the animal out of the wild and trained it for entertainment and money making. now that its basic instincts have taken over, it should be killed? :screwy:

its their responsiblity. they should find it a new home outside of entertainment

call me :screwy: all you want but, what do you think should happen to this whale then??

isolate it from the rest and just keep it fed right? what kind of life would that be for this poor whale? the other whales interact and bond with the trainers on a daily basis. this one can't have that anymore. you can't keep it with other whales because they get to interact with trainers. heck, you gotta even be careful when you feed it because it may jump out and grab you. then you got a whale that will grow even more frustrated and pissed off at humans.

sadly, like i said, the whale loses in the end.

I think it should be treated just like an Attacking Pitbull. You cant release him in the wild because of the obvious.

I dont see anyone but Li wanting to own a Orca as a Pet:D

play around with a 12,000 lb predator and your gonna get it. it might be fun to make these things into money making "puppets", but it certainly isnt a good idea.

yeah but see thats the problem. cant go around wiping out every animal that turns around bites or kills a human. why not kill the surfer that got attacked by a shark? or why not kill the camper/hiker that got mauled by a bear?

with whales, its like "ah this one's no good anymore, we'll just kill it and go get another one". i'm the most anti-PETA person there could be, but this just bothers me :)

Dude, I agree with you on a lot of things but.... Thats like comparing apples to spaghetti, lol. This animal (killer whale at sea world) is in captivity, where as the animals you just mentioned are all in their natural element and the people were on their turf. There is a completely different set of rules when your in the wild.
