someone said kill the whale .. WTF ... why? because it did what whales do? ... you see what them things do to seals .. HOLY ****!!!!

and you know why sharks attack people .... because they look like seals ... maybe a hint of things to come ..

i am 100% amazed that this kind of thing does not happen ALL the time .. with all kinds of animals .. i think we are just so used to being lucky that these things dont attack us that it shocks us when they do ..

look at humans when you cage them up .. aka jail .. look how pissed off and dangerous they are .. why do you think it would be any better for these animals?
I could not possibly agree more. :headbang2

Hey if they let the whale live can it a title matchup with Fedor Emelianenko or Brock Lesnar ? It appears to be 3-0 at this point...

in all seriousness though, as mentioned, its not the animal's fault here.

I hope they let it go rather than put it down.
Seriously. Its a killer whale even in the wild they fling baby seals in the air for fun. I don't think it should be punished for misbehavior in captivity.

i just hope they decide not to put it down...

he wont be put down .. right now he is not with the pack .. but per sea world they do not have any intention to put the animal down at this point ...

also this animal was never supposed to be used to entertainment and was only supposed to be used in the breeding and study programs ..

I didn't take the time to read the whole thread, but anyone who knows me knows that my opinion of animal trainers is the 99.999% of them FAIL to respect the predatory nature of the animals they work with. I work every day of my life with animals that can kill me. I'm aware of it and treat them with the respect they deserve. When that doesn't happen, people die. This is a great example of that.

There were several things that happend wrong for yesterday's event to transpire. Fixing any one of them may have saved a life.

Putting the animal down or letting it go are bad ideas. Very rarely can captive trained show animals be released. They have no need to use this animal for shows (in water work). Let it be an educational display and keep the animal in situations where it can't kill anymore. This particular animal has a record of killing trainers.

the person that is most qualified to comment on this .. and i like the way you think .. 100% agree .. and i am glad that someone who is in the same job field can see that this was as much the trainers fault as it was the whales..
