yes i must make a correction..his name is not Shamu..thats good to hear

yup .. the way it sounds .. they are going to have it by its self for a while and let things cool down .. so the general public who does not understand feel better .. then he will be used for what he was captured for in the first place .. there is no reason for them to do anything then keep him for study and breeding ..

Thanks for info.

just throw him in the display tank, and let him swim with other large fish. atleast then the Aquarium can still make some money

its inhumane to kill him, and probally not the best idea to free him.

Bottom lines are a person died too early in life, a Killer Whale did what it was created to do (horseplay or not), and what will become of the whale we will just have to wait and see ( I don't see release as an option).

Well, is this Monster or not? Somebody build a habitat and take the whale! With all of the millionaires on here, something should be possible. Then you'd be a Monster Mammal Keeper, too!

according to this, they are not going to isolate it nor stop interacting with it. it will no longer be in shows but they are still going to keep it with the other whales.

the guy in charge of all the trainers is saying the whale grabbed her by her ponytail but witnesses say it grabbed her by the waist and swam around with her violently thrashing her around in the pool.

i'm sorry but i think if they don't want to put the whale down, they should release it. they are going to keep it with the rest of the whales and continue to work with it???? to me, that's another death waiting to happen. this is the 3rd death this whale was involved in. i mean, how many people need to die before they realize this whale is just not meant to be in captivity???

I have heard the trainers with tilikum are never supposed to go in the water with him because of his past incidents(killing people lol). I don't know if this changed as it was the dine with shamu show.
That said the trainer had 40 years of experience, I don't think he didn't respect the whale considering its history and his experience. I just think you don't expect any sea animal to jump out of the water and pull you into it(which is what happened, I repeat the person was not in the water with the animal when the attack started).

If you say he didn't respect the animal because of that, you may as well say this women didn't respect the stingray that jumped into the boat and killed her.

out of the 28 or 29 trainers, only about 12 were allowed to work with Tilikum. and the trainer who died was 40, not that she had 40 years of experience

what makes you think it can be released? i dont know how many times people have said this ... you really think that is what is best for the whale ..

maybe they should take the responsibility of taking care of it for life since they ripped it out of its home and stuck it in a little ass pool ...

also if you watched any tv today you would SEE that its being held away from the other whales .. i saw it on live video today .. i can tell you that it is a small holding pool that is only about 6 feel wider then the whale is ...

and how many people have to die before they figure out that these are not teacup dogs that they can make do tricks .... it is not the whales fault that she could not play with the big guys ... ever play with a friend that weighs 100-200 lbs more then you .. i bet i can guess which one would get hurt first .. think about it ..
