I have a piece of driftwood that runs the length of my tank. It has a hump near one end that forms a sort of open-ended cave. My pleco uses that as his main residence but whenever he's out, my biggest clown likes to sit in there and pretend it's his. He'll sit there with his tail down and his nose up and chase off any smaller fish that come near him, but as soon as the plec comes back, he heads for the hills. :)

Interesting one today: I saw a black and yellow tail on its side sticking out from under my driftwood pile, and I thought... Oh crap, the Dario... I shifted some stuff around and he popped out, looking at me like... Why did you wake me up??... and starting patroling again with the Yoyos. Thought it was kinda funny haha :D

They sure have funny antics, I love Botias :grinyes:

Great stuff everyone. Makes the time on the road go by a little bit faster!!!

My biggest loaches are weird. They don't like me to look at them while they eat. If I do look at them, they stop eating, and sometimes even go and hide. Idiots :grinno:

So, I am back home for the weekend and decided to add the 17 baby loaches to the 75 gallon tank. The 220 is mostly set-up and started to cycle as of this morning. Will have pictures later on this week in a new thread (Hopefully). The new additions seem to be doing pretty good so far. Checking everything out in their temporary home. Although, they do seem to take a sadistic pleasure in tormenting the one 5 bar cichlid that I have in the tank. Normally he/she/it hangs out at the filter end of the tank in the one plastic tree that I have, and doesn't really bother anybody unless they get in his face. WELL.....the baby loaches have been taking turns slipping up on him and then darting away as he tries to "smack" them. The Cichlid doesn't chase anybody more than about 3-4 inches from where he started from, but I have watched the babies team up and drag him away from the log a couple inches at a time and then when he was on the other side of the tank, they all swarmed the log/tree foraging over it to see if there was any food before he got back to his place. And it looks like I have another female loach who thinks she is big enough to challenge the Alpha female. Will have to wait and see how that goes.

For those who don't know.....There are now 23 CL's in the tank, 17 of which are about 1 inch long, 3 are about 3-4 inches, 2 are about 4-5 inches and the Alpha female is about 51/2 maybe 6 inches. Need to update my tank in my profile.

Keep the stories coming!!! Have greatly enjoyed everyone's contributions so far.

I have a piece of driftwood that sort of resembles 'Pride Rock' from the Lion King movie, except it has a tube down the length that raises.

My largest Clown was resting at the peak of the wood, and the other guys were all resting on the bottom facing the largest. Was going to try to take a picture, but the second I even look at them for 2 seconds they all scramble.

Also, anytime they are sleeping on their sides, the moment I tell my wife or friend that is in same room.. they all get up and swim around like they were never napping.

Kerbins, that would have been one heckuva cool pic if you could have gotten it. The whole laying on the side thing that they do is to funny, mine pretty much do the same thing. The moment anyone moves to look at them, they are off doing something else. One of the funnier things to watch is when they are swarming over the cucmber trying to get the choicest bites out of the center.

I am very happy to report that the more the merrier is definately happening in my tank. With 23 in the tank now, they are much more active. Although the babies are still kind of skittish. As long as I sit very very very still, I get to see all kinds of activity, but if I shift at all, then bang, they are on the other side of the tank. That should calm down in a while though. Can't wait to get everyone into the 220.....

I saw my dominant Yoyo trying to burrow in the gravel today (no sand with internal filters) Once I'm through with this ich crap I'm gonna get some more gravel so he can dig to his heart's content :D

my alpha clown loach just swims in circles(up and down) and sleeps right next the heater because it creates a nice tight space for him. i could watch these guys all day

Finally got home for a few days to see the kids (the Clown Loaches) and the new additions are doing very well. My mdium sized Cl's have been taking turns leading the smaller ones around the tank in groups of 5 or 10. Kinda fun to watch. It was really neat to watch the kids swarm the bfrozen bloodworms cube that I dropped in this evening. They saw it, swrmed it, and I saw one lone bloodworm come floating out of the "swarm" of Cl's. Pretty cool to see.

Bottomfeeder, has the ich finally left your tank? How are the Yo-yos?
