SHOALING AFRICAN PIKES

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Alright, I will give it one more go! I have a two foot Clown Knife in my 1032 gallon pond. Now, in the wild these fish can get to 40 inches. I have had many CK and never have I owned one over two feet-and if you were to do research much like the Odoe, CK just don't reach 40 inches in captivity-has nothing to do with tank size! I mean do you think my 1032 gallon pond is to small for my CK? LOL!
I think a lot of people say things just to say them-without really knowing about the fish you are talking about. I know from my friend who absolutely loves these fish (and research from the web) that what caribe wants to do is not cruel-David has had these fish for years and everytime I come over the fish are happy and always on the top of his tank begging for food. Cruel isn't it. LOL!

Doubt it-and if so the exception!
So I guess 1032 gallons isn't huge?

Don't doubt it.... look him up his knives are huge.. and he took them out of the pond

and he must have gotten two exceptions because they are both that big

In most cases I would agree with you... but with this one, if given enough space, they will get that big.

In a normal aquarium setting they don't though.

Here we go again with average and typical...... I don't think the majority of MFK prides themselves on being "average" and "typical".

Maybe it's a food issue? Why continue feeding enough to continue growth when you can feed just enough for them to "maintain"? You know, kinda like that "should" be big enough. That "should" be enough food.......... Average and typical.
