Short body Green texas update, the second generation.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if you breed texas x Parrot, you have already done Syn texas in it also. Because Parrot carries Syn and red devil genes

This strain has very little parrot blood in it. I would guess them at over 75% green Texas blood. Regardless of all that, the last time any syn blood was added to this strain was several generations ago. It's about time to add it again.

The original female that I crossed to the pure Escondido couldn't have been much more than 25% parrot blood. Half of 25% is 12 1/2%, which is how much of that parrot blood she's going to pass down to her offspring... And how much of that 12 1/2% is syn?

yeah. Why not?! It will serve the purpose to give you more Syn traits

You like this look of a fish? He's gonna be golden base in time.

Yes I like that fish a lot. It reminds me of some of my syn X parrot fry.
Adding syn again also serves the purpose of adding normal body genes to throw some wild variety in length in there again... So I can choose slightly longer sb's for the next generation, I love these guys, but they're just a bit tooo stubby.

I really liked the sawed - off stubby sbs. Wish I still had a female but my male is doing good and is probably close to 7" tail included.

The syn X sb Texas pair spawned, woohoo! This is the only the second time the syn has done this, I hope he did his job right!

The spawn botched, I think it was my fault though. I rearranged some things before I realized they spawned, and disturbed them greatly. Also, I am not sure the male was able to do his job. I'm using broken terra-cotta as caves. I believe the cave that she laid the eggs in was too small for him to get in to do his job. I've rearranged things yet again, and they have adopted a new spawning site that the male can easily fit inside of. I'll give them a few weeks, and then start conditioning them again.

Good luck with these though, can't wait to see how it turns out! My 'evolutionary offshoot' so to speak of these guys is progressing as well
