you traded in meaning he was doing you a favour by taking them off your hands and giving them a home. and by paying you he already showed good will. i think you have got your part in the trade in mixed up by trying to make out you were doing him a favour by taking fish YOU no longer wanted and he should have been the grateful customerBawb2u;1903901; said:Interesting posts. I traded in fish for a very good price to him, he has already sold them for for much more than I got in trade and I expected that and even gave them him for that price so that he COULD make money on them
he no doubt gets his fish cheaper from the wholesaler.Bawb2u;1903901; said:I also didn't feel and still don't that it was my responsibility to tell him I was going to drop a fair amount of money to get my way, that would have changed

of course it would have changed the dynamics of the meeting. he is a business out to make money, NOT to be your friend who you take unwanted/rejected fish to. it was always purely about money from his perspective. he is a business afterall. he wont be in the game for a bit of "give and take" because he has to make money even after he dropped the price for you. you are being totally unrealistic about the way you think he should be doing business. most would have been happy with a couple of quid knocked off.
