That will be fine. My wifes 55 is a fully planted tank with currently my 5 L200s, my L190, and then her 2 whiptails, 14" Chocolate, 6" adonis, 5.5" L264, no problems other than the big chocolate likes to uproot plants.

just pick up a L200 and a L201 , tried to feed cucumber, didnt manage to entice it, man... :( , throw some bloodworms , the L200 was dashing towards it . predatory pleco?

Since my 2 favorite pleco nuts are watching this, I'll derail for a sec.....I wanted to do a eco-complete substrate tank for my plecos so I can plant it.....is this an ok substrate? All my other tanks have gravel, and I want to change it up a it with this one. BTW, it'll be a semi-planted 55g with some community fish, plecos, and clown loaches.
it'll be ok, good luck doing the planted tank, i personally could never get it to work. Much depends on the plecos you have, some will eat plants, others wont touch them or just graze the leaf for dead matter or algae. good luck

they are omnivorous, so eat both veg and meat, so you should provide both for a healthy pleco, you may find the cucumber gone by morning. there are plenty of other substitutes, mango, shelled peas, broccolli, potatoe, zucchinni, frozen lettuce etc. they are nocturnal so i always feed the pleco tank before lights out at night.

The L200 was probably just not offered a variety of foods like that at the LFS. He will eat cucumber or most any other veggies.

i always ask what the lfs is currently got it feeding on. mines quite good and wont lie about if theyve got it to feed or not

The closest one to my house uses zucchini and cucumber. The other just uses Aquadine algae wafers.

Yeah the closest one to me discovered that the plecos will eat cucumber and zucchini, and it is so much cheaper so they just do that.

i suggested they use prawns on the more carnivorous ones. i think the only reason they did was because thats what they feed the rays and bichirs

My LFS is smart and keeps the bichirs and plecos apart. unfortunately they don't have rays.
