Craiglist in my area is not fish friendly. I'm like one of two people that ever does anything dealing with live fish on Craigslist. I'm now open to other ideas... or maybe some help finding some shellies... I REALLY want them ... but I'm limited to getting them shipped to my LFS to be able to afford to get them...
 
have u tried dave's rare aquarium fish in San Antonio? They have a website with a pretty nice list.
 
If you do a large order, $65 isn't a lot of money for guaranteed live arrival of quality fish IMO. Ask some of the guys around here who order from Rapps if they would pay $65 for live arrival guarantee overnight shipping anywhere in the US. A lot of people charge a lot more. You can do cheaper shipping and fish usually do fine, but there is no guarantee.
 
i just payed $100 shipping for 3 fish...... shipping is expensive but once you get your fish you will forget how much you payed.....
 
I would love to be able to pay that much for fish shipping but I unfortunately don't have that kind of budget. I don't doubt that they have quality fish. That's not it... it's that I can't afford it and I'm not subjecting the fish to the other shipping methods in the winter because the heat packs don't last forever and weather is unstable at best. Maybe spring will be a better idea.

you could also try doing a group buy to make shipping more affordable..... look for people around your area or on mfk and see if anyone wants to do a group buy...
