Imagine the chemicals you use to keep an aquarium fish healthy. You surely don't want it accummulating in your body system. Besides, isn't that strange to eat a pet when you eventually become emotionally attached to it?

i don't think you'll get poisoned from it , but just the time you spent neutering the fish to adulthood and then eating it? makes little to no sense why not just fish him out and eat him then? it's like raising an infant from birth then putting him up for adoption at age 18! MAKES NO SENSE! BUT HEY MORE POWER TO YOU IF YOU HAVE THE TIME AND MONEY FOR A POINTLESS PROJECT

tasted pretty good, like sea bass sort of.:D

Animals are raised and eaten on a constant basis. Farms raises poultry, beef, and pork. I had a Chef who owns a ranch and raises cattle from birth and slaughters them on the premises. It'd be no different.

but the chemicals....

Of course it is different than a cow you raise on the field....

I don't believe any Mfker worth his salt could eat his pet....

To be perfectly honest...I don't trust that the food that we buy isn't already pumped full of chemicals and hormones. Ignorance is Bliss when it comes to what we eat. I don't know how many people REALLY think about how our food gets to our markets. So I would be down to eat a fish from my tank no matter what is used purify the water they live in. I personally couldn't eat an animal or fish I raised, but using Prime, Ammonia Remover, Carbon, and rarely using Ich Medication...seems more likely less chemicals than what goes into preserving a frozen TV dinner.

but hey, i eat all fish that are available here in the fishmarket: snakeheads, ARTCs and goonches and wallagos, pangasiuses (the list goes on). My father used to have a pond with commercial fish - i raised them but with eating them in mind.

Just go easy on the chems. Raise it in the pond if you must do it. None of my current fish are edible seeing that i am malachite green user (not approved for farming this one)
