I would have to disagree with this. Why would a native american 10 miles away not be aloud to speak his mind?

Because it doesn't affect anyone outside that area. If a group in say Boston uses a term of something I'm apart of, why should I care? Doesn't enter my life. Why should they care what someone on the other coast thinks? If the local NA population doesn't mind it, why should we?

People now a days are over sensitive as well as noisy. Why should white people be telling NA peoples what's offensive and what's not? Aren't those days supposed to be over?

For the record, I don't think anyone should demand anything. They should let their displeasure be known and then move on with their life.

On the flip side, the redskins owner did not need to be a jerk and comment at all either. Just added fuel to the fire. The guys a total tool anyways. Worse NFL team owner period. That's a fact

not fact-your opinion and wrong considering he owns one of most valuable franchises in the world. You saying he is a jerk is also your opinion and also wrong. All he did was give an answer to a question he was already asked a thousand times. The only reason he put the never in was so no one would ever ask the ? again.

I don't usually participate in conversations like this, given that I'm not particularly outspoken in regards to my political or social views, but I just felt a strange urge to mention an aspect of this that continuously bothers me: racial slurs in general. I suppose I have more of a question, than a comment.

I'm not sure of everyone else's interpretation, but to me it definitely feels like there is a hierarchy to racial slurs. There are some I can say in jest, and there are others that make me cringe when I hear them. Being predominantly caucasian in appearance, I'm very comfortable with most, if not all, "white-boy" slurs. The Iranian 1/2 of my blood also finds a decent amount of humor in some of the more thought out middle-eastern slurs, though many of them are in poor taste no matter how you look at them. I suppose I would be curious to hear from a Native American where "redskin" is on a scale of "hah!" to "*cringe*". Being raised outside DC most of my life, the term instantly brings to mind our Football team, and my brain doesn't even make the link to racial slur.

** side note - has anyone mentioned how we lost the "bullets" back in the 90's yet? Do other states have this many problems with the names of their sports teams?!? **

D.C. had the highest murder rate at the time,so there ya go.It's a good thing they didn't change the name to snipers!

Do a quick internet search then report back. Its fact he's worse. There's nothing you can say to change that. Tell me what they've accomplished since 99

He owns a team is your saving point? No one denied that he bought a team. However, no winning under his ownership.

So by your logic the Browns owner was the worst also? Jacksonville?

It's a known fact Jerruh Jones is the worst owner in the NFL. Have you seen his rap commercial? :D
