So right now you have to literally hit a button every day?

I just have mine running on a regular timer like "normal" lights, they remember the previous setting so switch back on to whatever they were last set to. The ramp timers will allow a gradual fade in/fade out, and the more advanced ones will switch to moonlight (and more I think).

Guys these are great lights. So versatile. These pics are great but do no justice. When you set the presets like clouding its immaculate. This lighting for the price kills anything else I've come across so far this year. The fact that each colours intensity can be changed and mixed with others is awesome. You can creat your own coloration's or ride out presets which is pretty much what i do. I love the clouding. As for plants id say stick to simple stuff. As for durability the light is not a sealed fixture but the led spots are all laid in an epoxy like substance to avoid exposure to humidity and salt which are the common killers when it comes to aquarium led lights. From a very passionate fish keeper to others i highly recommend this lighting.

I wish I knew about these lights a few weeks ago. I just spent the last hour visiting some of the sites linked in the thread and reading some of the blogs and plant journals. Very reasonable and I love the options available. The next tanks I set up will likely be with these.

Just picked up the 48-60" and a Flex led for my next build. Should have the build going this week coming up.

These seem to be the most flexible system going. Looking forward to diving in.

I am in the process of making the switch from T5 to LED for a variety of reasons. I really like these systems, but I'm just not sure it's worth the price to have all of these special features. I like the idea of being able to change the lighting to specifically what I want with the RGB, but I don't see the need for lightning and cloud cover beyond just something nice for me - so does the price justify the increase of possibly $80 (comparing 48" to Beamswork 48")?

If beamswork are still just blue and white then yes. I never use the storm or other modes but being able to adjust the colors to what I like best for my stock makes them worth every penny.

+1
I hardly ever use the thunder cloud feature but it is nice to be able to fine tune and save settings to best display your tank all from the couch. I'm happy with the purchase.

Just got mine last week. Hooked them up and was slightly disappointed. ......but that was before I had some trigger time on these bad boys. Realized I could pause the moonlight at the darkest point and it's perfect. Mounted them up under my canopy. They're so slim it's crazy. Very happy with these lights! Plus I got them for a good price. Oh and my tank is a 29" tall and it lights it up no problem. I actually keep it dimmer cause I don't like the white l.e.d.'s up all the way.
