Ya someone on here said it was a male in breeding colors. If I remember correctly I think it was actually rebel. But he was pretty big. Like 11" and fat. The part of my pliers that are in his mouth are like 2". Id love to catch a monster gill though

I've got 5 of these little guys in my tank. Can't get a good pic of them, they just don't stop moving when they see me lol No clue as to what species they are yet. Any guesses? They're only 3-4" right now, and they have a slight blue tint to their fins.
Also got 4 other ones between 5-9" in a temp stock tank at the moment. 2 Red breasted, 1 bluegill and 1 redear. Can't get pics of those right now unfortunately.

I want in on this. Here's a pic of the dominant So. Illinois longear in my 75 gallon tank.

Oh, and here's a pic of a central longear that they have at the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. 
This looks like an Eastern Dollar sunfish, pretty and aggressive little sunnies that usually max out at around 5 inches long.
