this is a 4 foot bull, one of the biggest kept in captivity.

I haven't kept up wtih this thread much....

But, Ken, you are right, there are NO bulls sharks in captivity that one could get that up close and personal with one. Oklahoma is the only place I know of with substrate like that, and that isn't one of theres. Additionally, that is much larger than a 4 foot. Third, 4 foot is nothing compared to the 8-9 plus footers that are in the US right now, so being "one of the largest" isn't right either.

That shark looks really small did you raise it from a egg sack

Also very nice blue spoted

Nice black banded ASG. I have several identical to that. They are far livelier and slower growing than the brown banded bamboo.

Hmmm ... Do you realize that they are the exact same species - Chiloscyllium punctatum?

The brown-banded only looks like it has black bands as newly born pups, once the get a bit older the "black" turns brown, and eventually the bands begin to fade as it approachs full size.

not so sure about that. the guy at the lfs says otherwise

I'll second that point.

OMG :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Sorry - but that statement is either incredible funny, or very nieve - take your pick.

The fact is - the majority of LFS employees are either misinformed/uninformed or will knownly lie to a customer to make a sell. This is true of all types of fish - but especially with sharks & rays.

And btw - since the guy at the your LFS says otherwise - he's either lying to you - or just doesn't know the truth.

But as I've said before - Do Your Research. Do a quick Google or Yahoo search under "Chiloscyllium punctatum" - you'll quickly find out the truth.
