Yaxha n peten are longer and orange the “belize” strain is wide body and red, I collected a ton of them in both countries and those species pretty much look similar from specific areas..in other words the melanurus from peten all look orange w similar skinny bodies..

Both photos are from my original breeding groups from early 2000s. Wild collection and import of this species to US has not happened in at least a decade(probably closer to 2!).
both of these photos were taken by me and have both been featured in the Buntbarsche Bulletin in the mid 2000's.

Thank you. They’re in a 220g with a 75g sump. There are 7 females and 5 males. The largest male is around 12” along with some small cutteri grow outs.
