Good morning Kathryn. Hope all is well. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.Oliver had an issue with his eye a month or so back. Not this severe, but it bulged out and had lots of hazing going on. White and green, it was alarming to me.
All I did was add salt and fin level water changes often. It didn’t heal over night, but you’d never know it happened now
I hope your friends fh heals up without any complications.
She already looked into it and she would have to take him to a Vet that is 2 hrs away. She doesn't want to put him through all that traveling.possibly drop the tank temperature but I would have a vet come check it out cause it could be dropse4ye or hole in the head disease sorry about your flowerhorn good luck

Thank you so much for taking the time to read the thread. I appreciate it.Lot of good advice here, adding salt, keeping the temp lower (many infectious bacteria are more virulent at water temps in the 80s), lots of water changes.
I must admit I have never been successful treating Pop Eye once at the stage of your last photo, and would probably consider the fish terminal.
