Leave the temp around 84-85 for 2 weeks. Ich can't live in temps that high, BUT it can remind dormant if it falls off the fish in the substrate. This will ensure it dies. A lot of times fish get it when they're stressed. I imagine it'd be pretty stressful on a young fish to be shipped somewhere.

Do you have other tanks?
my other tank is stocked with my little festae... i just bumped the temp to 85 it seems all three fish that got shipped are getting it as well my other fish that haave been in the tank are all doing fine

Ich is no fun and it reproduces rapidly so fast treatment is necessary. Raise the temp to 86 degrees. Anything lower and the ich can still reproduce. At 86 and above, the reproductive cycle cannot be completed. Add at least 2 tablespoons of salt per 5 gallons.

Lastly, looking at that picture, your midas has a particularly severe case. I would go ahead and get RidIch at the store (it's a mix of formalin and malachite green). Use as directed on the bottle, but do not use if you have any scaleless fish in your tank. Formalin can severely reduce the amount of oxygen in your tank so you'll probably have to supplement oxygen with a bubble wand or airstone.

Best of luck...

i just bought some stuff called super ick cure by the brand API hope this helps

Be careful on bumping the temp up to quick. I did that once when one of my fish had ick and then the ick just exploded in my tank. By bumping the temp up to quick I stressed out the other fish and then they all got it.

There's a reason for that.. the ich life cycle is temperature dependent. The higher your aquarium's temperature is, the faster the ich will reproduce.... up to 86 degrees. Beyond that point, they can't reproduce. If you have a tank at, say 84 degrees, each one of those white dots can produce 400-1000 more white dots in one day. It's truly an explosive parasite, given the right conditions. That's why it's so important to go to 86. Anything lower than that, and they will reproduce like mad.
