I agree with Natalie on this. The OP only stated that his fish was showing signs of a hump, not that he was going to grow a huge hump. So I doubt he will be upset if it doesn't grow extremely huge. There is a clear difference between Koks of Flowerhorns and Nauchal Humps of other cichlids. Temperature, maturity, hierarchy, diet, water parameters, and genetics all contribute to the size of Nauchal Humps. There have been plenty of threads about this with people that have posted pics of mature Midas/RD that were purchsed with little to no humps, but after a while with quality care their humps grew dramatically. You can't always look at a picture of a newly introduced fish and assume how it will look as an adult.
thanks for the help.. and info..

Try and raise the temp to 87 it will kill the ich faster and the fish will be okay at that temp.

well believe what you want we have been into cichlids with nuchual humps for a longtime now and thats all i would keep!! Wether its flowerhorn or red devil its the same if it doesnt have one at 3 to 4 inches it will never have this!!
These are just a couple of many. My friend has them for sale also I am not sure if he opened his account up yet on here will check with him today

Love the Fish in your avatar pic. What breed is it?

Wow thos midevils are awsome i never said my fish would get a huge hump i said he was showing signs of a little hump....

Increase temp to 90 degrees, Add Formalin/Malachite Green (Quick Cure) add salt, do 20% daily waterchanges & increase aeration/surface agitation. After 3 days slowly reduce temps back. What temperature was the tank when the Ick brokeout?
