i believ its at 85 now i think thats the max my heaters go

Okay, if you can get it to 85 and use the ich med you bought then you should be ok. If the med isn't present, the ich is just going to reproduce like mad.

Has a bad case of ick!!!! Put in a 10 gallon raise temp to around 90, put salt and quick cure in there. 20 percent water changes a day!!!

Not trying to upset you but fish will never have a large nuchal hump. I have been into Red Devils, Midas and Flowerhorns for over 10 years now!! If they do not have one at 3 inches they never will!! Here is one of mine at 3 inches now!!

I disagree with this. Many fish don't develop a nuchal hump until they are sexually mature, or even later. It's not uncommon for a nuchal hump to develop at 9 or 10 inches. The OP's fish are still young, and need time to grow up.

Also, 90 degrees is too high for what's needed and will significantly decrease oxygen levels in the tank, which will already be compromised due to formalin use. 86 is sufficient for ich treatment.

on certain species i agree, but not Red Devils, Midas. You can look at this fish and tell the face is too long and pointy and there is not going to be a hump in its future. There is a breeder here in MD i am friends with that only has Devils with large humps. Most of his fry turn out with them also. I will post his info after i talk to him about it. But they are worth the money!! All have huge humps!!

I agree with Natalie on this. The OP only stated that his fish was showing signs of a hump, not that he was going to grow a huge hump. So I doubt he will be upset if it doesn't grow extremely huge. There is a clear difference between Koks of Flowerhorns and Nauchal Humps of other cichlids. Temperature, maturity, hierarchy, diet, water parameters, and genetics all contribute to the size of Nauchal Humps. There have been plenty of threads about this with people that have posted pics of mature Midas/RD that were purchsed with little to no humps, but after a while with quality care their humps grew dramatically. You can't always look at a picture of a newly introduced fish and assume how it will look as an adult.
