Sickest pickup this guy's ever had.

i think the blisters are from amonia db but that could have been in the tank it was previously kept in from the shipping judging from the state of the disc edge. if the disc is so bad then the health of the ray is also very bad so it stands to reason that it could affect the eyes.
it certainly sounds like the water it was previously kept in was very poor.

for reference db, those blisters can appear fairly quickly in shipping. ive had it happen to me before (talking 8/9 hrs with the ray being recently fed before shipping though). however the blisters on your ray look quite old to me.
in this case though i dont think it makes a huge difference.

also ... is that fungus on the rays tail at the end ? if it is then i cant see that being from the shipping.

this is DEF not from shipping... I have imported rays before and even with them being in a shipping box with the same water for 24-30hrs NEVER had blisters.. the bottom disc was alil red/pink at WORST never like this... this guy that sold the ray just stop taking care of the ray and did the old bait and switch meaning, posted up pictures of when the ray was properly cared for and not of the current state of the ray. sorry Alan. this is TOTAL BS
 
Couldn't agree more.

I've NEVER seen blisters like that. I have seen some with really bad bacterial outbreaks, but nothing like this ray had.

My Falks were bounced from Canada to Denver, Denver to MSP, in the boxes a long time, looked horrible, but absolutely nothing like this. I've transported big rays 8+ hours then handed them off for another 6+ hours on the road with no issues. I've had rays almost too big to fit in a box spend 30+ hours in that box they barely fit in and she's still alive and well today.

BUT in all the instances above proper precautions were taking prior to shipping, like DON"T FEED THEM. The water this ray arrived in had poop in it, unless I just mistook all the chunks of disk as poop. I guess when you see a ray in such shape determining disk chunks from poop becomes minor details that aren't going to affect the uncontrollable outcome......

I can't believe I'm out money in a situation that's so blatently obvious where the blame lies.

The way the guy's acting just proves his guilt. Pulls the facebook page, ignores attempts to contact, and offers no explanation whatsoever.
What's really funny is the guy squirmed like crazy when we both got screwed by MN Discus and exotics or whatever the hell Shawn called his operation, and even after we both took hits there (me significantly more) he still has the nerve to turn around and screw me like this.
 
Dont beleive it happened in shipping. I've had Rays arrive after 30+ hrs in ammonia off the charts and they were in beautiful condition. This is most definately a case of neglect and animal cruelty. Very sad. Makes me sick to see this happen. My hat goes off to you for your kind intensions. Really sucks to get screwed in the process of doing good. My condolences!!
 
Paypal sided with Gary Richey (Venomstinger) today. I don't get anything back. I was not able to submit photos or even tell my side of the story.

I have a history with paypal of fish purchases going back 5+ years. Gary set up a paypal account to recieve payment for the dying fish he sent me. Before this screwing the guy didn't even have an account.......

Unfrigginbelieveable.

I don't understand how this can happen.

I hope Karma pays that pice of crap a visit.

Wow...sorry to hear this. I generally always use my credit card through paypal, never needed to file a claim but sounds like this is at least a hair better then a debit card but I dunno.

What a piece of ***** this seller is.....
