Silly me...Listening to LFS instead of you guys

For starters the place stunk lol and very expensive but Australia is one of, if not the most expensive western nation so it could be that. Plus the staff hadn't been to helpful at all.

I'm used to my pets being rather strange. Something happens to them the minute they enter my house lol.

That is quite understandable.
LOL... I love pets.
 
Pure opinion here, but I would keep the chocolate and get rid of the JD. Jacks are stupid mean, meaner than oscars, but right now I have a chocolate growing in my 55. I don't think I will ever put it with the festae or Midas... chocolates get so beautiful. If you keep the chocolate it would be way easier to pair it with other tank mates too since I think chocolates are closer to oscar type aggression.
 
A pic of my beggars... this tank started as a semi aggressive with bichir and a fire eel. But I have slowly been adding some aggressive. So far it hasn't been so bad, the oscars are the biggest cichlid and I feel they keep the aggression of the festae and the rest in check. Everybody is 4 inches or so plus, and thinks haven't gotten crazy yet.

God I hope not my Oscar killed everything and destroyed many a thing. Sometimes he just killed for the fun of it

I love the colours of the jd and the pics of chocolates to be honest are ugly but taste is always personal
 
I can assure you, jacks are much worse. We had a jack growing up and as soon as he was able, he systematically killed everything in the acquarium. By the time it was all said and done, he and one other fish remained.

Chocolates definitely start ugly, but the green orange colors that eventually come through are quite nice, even some shades of purple. Jacks can be pretty, but if you are going for the nice greens and blues, the green terror again does it better (but sadly so nasty).

Yeah I know it's an aggressive fish. I looked at the green terrors but everything is ready is its more aggressive than jd. I think it comes down to each individual cichlid personality tbh.
