Silver and jardini?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That bad boy was a 180gal boss. I never had issues with that tank what so ever. I got the Jar way after the silver was in that tank, so the jar knew it's place. I might have been lucky, but jars aren't as violent as they seem.

I've kept Leichardi Aro's(IMO the better looking and definitely more peaceful disposition of Australian Aro's) with a same size Silver. They where over 12 inches and I had no problems what so ever. I will also note that just like in haynchinook334 case the Silver was in the tank for awhile before introducing the Aussy Aro.

Aussies are hard to come by and pretty pricey... This 6-7" jardini is $120 which isn't to bad... But this jar will be the only aro in the tank ... Then ill add some other fish later on

Do this the opposite way. Get the other fish first, then get the Jar.

I had a Jar that I got at 2" and grew out in a 29 long for awhile. Put him in my 135 at about 6" with some discus and synos. Kept him till the tank split, he was about 20" and had to sell him in a hurry. NEVER had a problem with aggression. I didn't know much back then. The only live food he ever ate was nightcrawlers. Man he would shred my fingers when I would hand feed him. He loved being peted. My point is, it just depends on the fish. I don't think I would try it again based on what I read on MFK. I want another one.
