Thanks Hao for the link but I read all of those threads already. :)
Just didn't know if my case was the same case as those I have seen or read of... I just added a powerhead and will only turn it on for 30 mins or so a day to see if that helps.
I also change around 10 gallons of water daily on the 55 if that helps + I might just put them in the 180 and buy the pieces to go over the inlets for the filters. This sucks man I don't want a community of silver with DE and now I'm stuck with possible gill curl....

The video should be up in around 10 mins...IDK if you guys can notice but it is silvery and shiny on the gill is where it curls outward a little. Tried taking pics but pics sucks like heck and can't see nothing...

Why would you only turn on the powerhead for only 30 mins a day? why not just leave it on, it is only beneficial to your fish.

Mainly for the safety of my smaller fish. Just scared they might get sucked in the inlet of the powerhead as it didn't come with it. Video should be up any min now.

are u serious.. they all look beat up.. you need to sell 9 off.. and downgrade to 1 silver aro in that 180g. OR get a 1000G pond/tank and put all 10 of em in there

Wow you've got some sick aros there. They are stressed by the looks of the heavy breathing and fin rot. The gill curl (though I don't see any) could also be a result of this.

Too many fish, too little space. Better take action, healthy silver aros that size don't get sucked into Emp400 or any AC filter intakes. Likely the aro that died was near death or dead before it got to the intake.

BTW why don't I see any other arowanas getting gill curl when they are crammed in the "Asian" style tanks? Or just crammed in a tank in general by other members? Care to explain...BTW you can't really have a perfect reading of 0 Nitrate.

Because "asian style tanks" require a crapload of filtration and by that i mean close to perfect water. Judging from the vid all those aros look like they have been through hell :/, the water fall from your filter is obviously disturbing them since silvers are suppose to gently glide on the surface of the water.
