My Arowana's growth rate has slowed down or maybe i can't tell.. but he's now around 13" from 5-6" 5 months ago....

My other arowana which i got at 10" not 3 weeks ago is now about 12" SOOOO it depends on the fish... but 1-1.5" sounds about right to me...

They are my both my first arowana tho.. so we'll see...

My jardini on the other hand.. is growing like crazy...

For the most part you'll see silver aros continue to grow quickly up to 24". There are always exceptions, currently in the B&S forum someone is trying to re-home a 16" silver that has shown remarkably slow growth. My black aro in the same way, she has only grown about 8~9" in the 25 months I've owned her.

I got a 6 inch silver arowana but is hardly eating. Is not growing much propably because hes not eating too much. My water is perfect, every week a water change and only eats a cricket out of the blue. Dont know whats going on.

i got my silver at about 2.5-3" inches alittle after the egg sac stage. got him about 4 months ago and hes now pushing 10"to 11" inches.

As far as I know, 3" per month is about maximum for silvers until they get to around 24", but 1-1.5" is more common. My silver's growth seems to be beginning to slow down at about 19", and it is still growing at about 1.5" a month(though it has had a growth spurt in the last two months and rapidly grew about 3" for some unknown reason - I think I might have been overfeeding it a little). When it was 5-10" it grew about 3"+ a month. The growth rate depends on the specimen, its diet, its feeding amount and frequency, its age, its water quality, and the water's temperature, so it's pretty variable between each individual fish.

If it is new to the tank then this is normal, don't be too worried if it doesn't eat for 2-3 weeks, they can last a surprising amount of time without food.

i know am alittle late on this one, but all mine grow way faster then 1.5" a month...the slowest one i have had grow was 2" a month...the fastest was 3" to 24"+ in 10 months...
