Silver Arowana has busted lip. Surgery needed?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Medical grade superglue might be worth a try. I know I've used it on the Wolves before for cut foot pads. non invasive and fast...

Thanks. It wasn't easy and I had 2 people helping. Very stressful working on your own fish, and when I used that Arowana Stabilizer, it looked as if it was dead. But all in all it worked out fine. But I want to make sure the gasping doesn't turn into something else.

You may wanna increase the oxygen intake in the tank as well? The fish may be in pain due to this procedure. A small dose of anti-bacteria preventing bacteria infection during this time will be good.

 first time seeing this thread!!! ...holy :nilly: ...hope he pulls through...good job on the stitching...

also, when increasing the temp it also reduces the o2 level...so be sure to put extra air stones in his tank..that could be the reason he's "gasping"...but, hopefully its just from discomfort..also, keep a close eye on stress levels and accomadate accordingly (turn off lights, proper meds, leave him alone, etc.)..

Good Luck to you and your Aro ;)

hoping he will be okay..best wishes..

maybe pimafix to prevent fungus, but if you keep the water warm and clean I can't see any problems arrising. He will recover quick for sure!

Very good job, I would just keep up with melafix and the salt for now, maybe bump the temp up to 84.

If you would, please list the exact arowana stablizer you used and any other things you may have used. There are many who own aros and may find this info from your experience helpful, in the furutre.

Thank you, hope to see that your aro makes a full recovery.
