Actually, silvers aren't the largest of their kind as quoted from a previous member. If you want a big fish, why don't you go for the largest freshwater fish in the world? No, it's not a catfish, although they get pretty big too, but more like the

arapaima

arapaimas get to be minimum 6ft long and max out at 15ft. They are huge and dwarf silvers. They've been known to eat dogs. My LFS in san diego, aquatic warehouse was selling some for only $200 which is a great deal. They're also under the cites pact so every fish is chipped before processed through asian fish farms. Try these fish out because you'll need a pond and some feeder puppies. :)

Dude, calm down. Not trying to start wars. Just letting you know about the arapaima. The other member wanted to know if the potential of the silvers can get that big. And i was just informing him that there's a way bigger aro that dwarfs silvers. Maybe he would be interested in more info and hasn't heard of it before. I"m just trying to give out some info. And the arapaimas are very closesly related. I believe they're in the same phylum. Calm down buddy. :)

I'm still unclear about this. Why would you think that my quote was there to initiate a fight? All i said was check out the arapaima. And stated info on it????
