Silver dollars with silver aro's?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yep! I'm just working on getting some cash to buy a couple heaters for my tank and then I'm going to transfer my current native wild caught fish to a new home in a friends aquarium.

I'm in no rush, the main thing was I wanted to get the silver dollars in as soon as possible so they could start growing a bit as they are only the size of a quarter, I was worried if I put the silvers in around the time I put the Silver Aro (which will be about 8") that he would go after and try to eat the SD's. If all else fails and it takes longer than expected to get the SD's in my tank I suppose I may have to prolong getting my Silver Aro as I'd really hate to spend 50$ on a set of SD's that turn into fish food for the Aro! Hmm.

Good luck and keep us updated.

heaters are not that expensive

depending on your tank, you might need 2 (in case one dies)

also, don't go by what the "clicker settings" say, buy a thermometer and regulate using that. Much safer for all the fish

Good luck
Thanks, I've got a temperature gun that takes very accurate temperature readings, I use that. I've always used that to check temps. And I will have to get two heaters for my tank, I just don't have any spendable cash at the moment. Life of a poor highschool kid.. haha.

That'd be nice. I have 4 of them, 2 are about 3 inches, 2 are about 5. I just moved them into a different tank temporarily, and I like the tank they were in much better without them. Now I don't really have any where for them.

this combo has been done thousands of times before and is a successful combo almost all of the time.
