stump i am glad that you admitted you are being hard-headed, but listen to reason. do not get the fish for your own selfish desire because you like the way it looks with no importance for what is best for the fish. if you really want a del, get at least a 100g so you can house all your bichirs in there.
I'm being hard-headed in the sense that I know a Delhezi will be fine in a 55g tank. You nor fishman can tell me different. Argue with people who have a clue about bichirs over in the polypterus forums. This is about cichlids and I am asking for suggestions. You are giving me advice which has no value, to be honest.

Do not tell me I am getting a fish for my own 'selfish desire' when I know damn well how to take care of what I get. You are beginning to look like a troll, and I suggest you start suggesting something or stop posting in this thread.

thanks. :)

And, yes, northeasterners all the way!

And what i was saying about the water quaility is that bichirs dont need much for water quaility. They can live in mud if you let them. But also bichirs are not a very clean fish either. But i still stand by my idea that a 55 gal is not enough room for 4 bichirs for life.

Anyways...if you want a suggestion though. I like parrots myself. I got one with my bichirs and they get along fine, plus parrots cant really bite the polys cause of their distored mouths.

As in Blood Parrot, not true Parrot?

Thanks for the sugestion, really... But I can't stand they way they look. lol

I wouldnt have gotten one myself if it wasnt for my ex. She really wanted it and I gave in. But now the fish is part of the family and i cant see my tank without her.

Definately... Once you get attached to something, no matter what, it's hard to let it go...

Women seem to like them a lot more than men i've found anyway... :screwy:

Maybe an EBJD? This is all hypothetical thinking...

no jack dempseys, they get up to 16". i really dont care if you believe me or not on this one, i saw one two weeks ago at my lfs with a 12" oscar. took a video of it but mediaplayer isnt letting me download it for some reason :irked:

A 16" JD? Not that hard to believe... The EBs tend to remain smaller though, don't they?
