Single Fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i don't really like single fish tanks.
Then again i have one for my doviix flowerhorn.
I prefer the typical "desktop" community style ( large variety) tanks but with monsters. :D

Both. I have a 180 with discus, angels and 40 some clown loaches. Then I have a 220 with a 22" jar.

I like them both for different reasons.

If we're doing fantasy fish, a single coelacanth would keep me smiling for a long time. Otherwise, a nice HUGE arowana would be nice as a single specimen (not counting live feeders that get tossed in).

i like both. i have the community tank(monster fish of course), and i have my fahaka in his own tank. i want a dovii as well but that has to wait till i have a bigger house.

A single fish in a tank thats larger than 150G is just a waste of water IMO. Like for example, a single male dovii in a 240G.

It's so easy to watch both tanks for hours.

I LOVE community tanks.

Only 1 problem, not enough compatible tankmates for my fish.

I have a piranha (around 4 inches) a 4 1/2 inch pleco Both in my 75...why? Because the pleco can't go in with the goldfish, and he can't go in the brackish tank, and he really can't go in the 10 gallon. Him and the piranha have come to a truce, each has their own space. BUT, it looks TOO EMPTY!!

Soo, we're putting a divider down the center and getting ANOTHER red belly piranha and Pleco pair. It'll still look too empty in my opinion, someday (when the future piranha gets bigger) I'd like to get some tetras that stay pretty small and put them in for movement.

I would like one of those tanks where it has front and back split sections. that way, you can have 2 kinds of fish in that tank, and because there's glass between the different kinds, you'll be set, but since it's divided lenghtwise, it looks like all of the fish are together!!

Multi level community tanks are my favorite,
The only take i would consider for a Solo,
would be a ARTC- i LOVE Them, and am really thinking about dedicating a 180+ to one,
