good chance he's fertile doubt he let another fish fertilize the eggs then he took up parenting.

It's not that he would let another fish fertilize the eggs its something you have probably noticed as I have and thats when you have a pair in a community tank and when their doing their thing you have this one male that isn't paired up with anything keeps getting as close as he can to the nest ready to fertilize and trying to while being chased away repeatedly not saying hes not fertile cause syns can only fertilize eggs after growing so big but theres a strong possibility either way can't wait for updates

Yeah, the GT would be around but that was because my male skkp would tolerate it. If he ever got to close he would get checked real fast by both of my mammon. I'm not counting the GT out but he would have to of been sneaky to get in there and I just don't think that happened. I really think it was my skkp, especially because he's being an awesome father, but I guess only time will tell. You never know.
