Slate tile bottom on my 300g

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I got a wet tile saw for 99$ at home depot did my whole basement with it works like champ. But like gangster said get a shop or someone to cut it for a small fee or ask a friend that might have the tools.. Or last resort rent one from home depot

I like it!
Been thinking of a tiled bottom myself, sand stone effect.

Thanks jay
Do it! Beats bare bottom IMO. But still "almost" easy cleaning as bare bottom..

So I cut the tile. U guys were right! It looks a lot better. Tile is still staggered (a little trick I learned laying floors) now what do u guys think?

Don't mind the dirty water. It's from the cut tile.

Looks awesome! I've always wanted to do a tile setup, but I keep the stock I keep need to dig. ;-/

Maybe one day when I build my aro tank... ;-) Thanks for the staggered idea. Good job!

Thanks fellas. Ya I did the staggered look cuz I seen many people make it non stag and it looks kinda weird with one row of reg size and one row of short size. Plus it helps break up the line. If I didn't stagger it, it would be easy for u guys to spot how crooked the line would be hahaha.

for the amount for cichla you have right now, I wouldn't worry about the crap being stuck under the tile, and with you scooping the crap out along with the vac I don't see a problem. But if you do add a few more fish to that tank you will have to be concerned with what does get stuck under the slate tile.

But I'm diggin the look though
x2
