I would say the elephant nose is pretty darn smart. I love mine, he is very friendly, eats from my hand and knows when im bringing the blood worms lol

i just don't see the oscar as extremely intelligent, rather just greedy eaters......i mean if you were fishing wouldn't you see them as that same "stupid fish" that keeps coming back regardless of how many times it's been caught....

I have to agree, I've had Oranda's as hand trained as Oscars. both dumb fish imo. cuttlefish and octopus are both excedingly intelligent. I would have to say some of the knifes, elephant nose, eel type fish imo and experaince are the most intelligent fish in the home FW aquarium. catfish being at the tail end of that, for some reason they just seem to do smart things...
