snail breeding

Yep, that's some high-class snorno right there. Although you can't be sure that's a male and a female. Male brigs will mount anything with a shell usually, so it could be two males.

Those aren't eggs from your mystery snails. Pomacea bridgesii/diffusa will lay a large clutch of pale pink eggs above the water line, usually on the hood or just under the tank rim.
Those look like giant columbian ramshorn eggs to me.

the pic was zoomed in..and im guessing the egg clutch fell loose. But i dont think they could be ramshorns' just cause i dont have any in my tank.??

Well if the egg clutch fell into the water, you can throw it away. The embryos have already drowned. P. bridgesii/diffusa eggs are laid above water, and need to stay above water to hatch. They should to be floated on a piece of styrofoam in a breeder net. They should be kept in a warm, humid place, but cannot be too wet. Those eggs are already duds.

Great information thread on breeding/keeping snails! Keep it going!

I'm looking to get some mystery snails P. bridgesii for my (planted) cichlid tank to liven it up a bit. I might even keep some in a planted 10 gal with shrimp. Suggestions?

i would make a new thread to get more attention. Be careful keeping apple snails with cichlids as its not uncommon for them to have their antennae nipped. This can prevent them from feeding and they will starve to death. They do fine with shrimp though. Only comment on that is that bridgesii have a decent bioload. It can be challenging to do good gravel vacs in a tank with juvie shrimp and good vacs are necessary with a critter that poops as much as bridgesii. That being said, they are compatable.

I wouldn't mix snails with cichlids at all. I had to rehome my canas because my white pastel betta was stalking their antennae and eyes and who knows what would happen if I didn't remove them any sooner.
