Snapping turtle Vet?

Thanks to all who have replied, this has been (and still is) a difficult situation.

Snappy is still doing OK. I'm sure he isn't thrilled to be in my bathtub, but I want to keep him fairly still until the operation.

Fundraising is going well. Our Kindergarten teacher wrote a $100.00 check, she says she needs a turtle for "T" day. Kids are going home tonight to raid there piggy banks.

My Wife's exact words: "It's only money"

Thursday Snappy goes to the doctor. The only vet that has the equipment (endoscope with extractor) and works on exotics is a two hour drive, but he seemed pretty confident of success.

I will pass the hat at school (Snappy is Silver Crest School's mascot) and maybe the vet will cut us a deal when he sees the situation. Anyways, I've got a credit card, so it is going to happen.

Right now Snappy is in the bathtub of our second bathroom. I've got him in a few inches of water with the lights out, it seems to keep him calm.

I will keep everyone updated!

Here are a few photos of the famous turtle. The tank is 300 gallons; he is actually a pretty big Snapper (10 1/2" x 7 1/2" carapace).

Counted up the change during math class: $88.75

Total raised in 2 days: $798.75
